Brad remains calm in chaotic situations, rationally thinks through complex issues, and knows how to assist managers in dealing with events that most have never experienced.  During the last 25 years, Brad has planned and actively managed restructurings for over 100 companies in a variety of industries and identified buyers for both healthy and distressed companies. 

Mr. Coulter has over 25 years experience in management, corporate finance and international business. In addition to having a strong financial background, Mr. Coulter has a broad range of general business skills including logistics, market research, market development, strategic planning, government relations and import/export procedures. 

Since going into consulting in 2001, Mr. Coulter has managed various restructuring assignments including developing and actively managing the implementation of turnaround plans for a number of automotive suppliers, medical clinics, retail chains, convenience store chains, machine tool companies, building material dealers and distributors, engineering firms, and various other industries. In addition, Mr. Coulter has coordinated numerous senior debt and sub-debt transactions as well as taken an active role in a number of sell-side merger and acquisition assignments.

Before consulting, Mr. Coulter spent 14 years with Guardian Industries, a leading manufacturer of float glass.  Mr. Coulter was Director of Finance and Development at Builder Marts of America, a $2 billion subsidiary of Guardian Industries specializing in wholesale building products and distribution. In this position, Mr. Coulter was responsible for managing the credit function, including creditor workouts and customer bankruptcies, and often acted as an advisor to financially troubled customers.

From 1991-1998, Mr. Coulter lived overseas and served as  the Finance Director on two separate $120 million start-up,  joint venture, float glass projects that Guardian constructed in India and Thailand. Mr. Coulter took the lead in arranging funding with local banks and financial institutions, liaised with both the U.S. Embassy and host governments on obtaining necessary government approvals, and managed the financial restructuring of each project after the unforeseen collapse of the economies in the Asian region. Mr. Coulter also worked closely with the marketing staff on customer development, market research and logistics management.

Before working at Guardian, Mr. Coulter spent three years on the Corporate Financial Staff at General Motors. During that time he was involved in various financial analyses of new car programs, productions schedules and investment proposals.

Mr. Coulter earned his MBA in Finance from Indiana University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Albion College. He is a Board Member for the International Turnaround Management Association and a former President of the Detroit Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). He is also a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and a member of the steering committee for the University of Detroit Mercy's Business Turnaround Management program.
